Anyway, Sims 3 itself is a lot of fun and Ambitions added a lot more to do. And then, there are Aliens, which, IMO, are improved from those we saw in Sims 3 Seasons, but if you are not alien fan and especially alien pregnancy fan, than you may not like this EP, because, alien abductions and alien pregnancies for male Sims are pretty common occurance in this EP.
The real Estate system in the pack is more closer to the owned businesses in Sims 2 Open for Business EP than the system in Sims 3 that was actually introduced to the base game in patch coinciding with Ambitions release, so that may or may not be improvement, depending on your preferences, though I personally would like to one day see Sims game that has both of these systems together. Its 3 new careers, from what I've heard, are as much stereotype, as the 3 careers I mentioned from Ambitions. And, from what I've heard, the same can be told about Get to Work, but I don't have that EP, so my opinions are only based on reviews, let's playes and other things I've read on the net. Sims 4 itself is a step back from Sims 3 in many directions, though there are some things that were improvements. And don't forget the laundry system, totally optional new chore for your Sims, but chore that is not really that hard and has benefits of new positive moodlets.
I also like the new skills and the possibility to have my Sims self-employed, so they can get professional Inventor, Sculptor, Writer etc. The other two careers are less stereotypical, since each job is different. However, Firefighter, Ghost Hunter and Investigator careers tend to get quite stereotypical, which is especially sad with Firefighter career, since from what I've heard from RL firefighters, their job is anything but stereotype. They're all uncomplicated additions, but Ambitions really gets what The Sims players love about the game, and does a superb job of giving them more of it.Sims 3 and Ambitions was the package I got ten years ago, shortly after Ambitions was released, so I never played vanilla Sims 3 and often get confused with what features are in basegame and what came with Ambitions.
But as long as you pretend to yourself that your clients are smarter than they are, it's all good fun.Īmbitions adds other features, including subtle but helpful UI improvements, entertaining and lucrative new Inventing and Sculpting skills, a real-estate market to invest in, tattooing, plus all the extra clothes, hairstyles, traits and miscellaneous objects we've come to expect in a Sims expansion. It's also annoying when you're hired to add a home gym to a house that already has one, where you can simply delete and then replace the identical items to 'win'. I built a tiny, windowless, tin-roofed shack in the back garden and filled it with the required baby items, along with a creepy statue and a chainsaw. Meanwhile, my architect was hired to build a room for a new baby.
